Higher Institutions of learning across West Africa and other parts of Africa which seek to benefit from the solid empirical research opportunities that are grounded in historical context which the project seeks to afford participants should participate. The programme promises to strengthen skills and support an effective platform for participation and also support a platform for interaction among global peers.

The high profile moot competition is not just a Moot Court but a one stop shop which includes; seminar, workshop and a platform to train on media law, partner with institutions in the UK and build a global network for practitioners and students; the competition amongst others seeks to:

  • Provide avenues for stakeholders including scholars, policy makers and practitioners to study and discuss contemporaneous issues in global media law and policy with particular interest in understanding media and governance in transitioning and fragile states
  • Place prominence on the importance of culture and values of global actors
  • Work with research fellows across the University of Oxford which provides a unique and interdisciplinary environment in which contemporary issues of media and technology law can be seen in geopolitical and historical perspectives.
  • Afford participants the opportunity to survey the vast changes in media policy across the world from multiple disciplines including law, politics, international relations, economics and anthropology’.

Your participation will enrich the ongoing dialogue between all the major actors and contribute to empirical research grounded in historical context, which this collaboration seeks to achieve.
